Here’s review number two on the L.A. Colors eye palette I bought. This time I went with a silver smokey eye. I picked up maybelline master precise eyeliner pen yesterday too and I love it! So easy to apply and make a sharp winged eye. Wore this look going on 10 hours now and it’s staying strong. Pretty good for a $2.99 palette!
Ten hours later
(Me looking exhausted)
Hey lovelies! This weeks mani is more on the femme side. I don’t often do pink but this one I could not pass up. It’s called dancing nails from the hot flash metallics collection. I used two coats. Application was very smooth, no dragging at all or bubbles 🙂 and dries pretty quick too! You should all go out and by it! On my accent nail I did a water marble with I think it’s called dark bronze. Hope you guys like this weeks mani. And here’s my new YouTube video as well on makeup I got at the drugstore and a score I made on some awesome palettes for only $2.99!!
Hey guys! I have always wanted to start a youtube channel so I just went ahead and did it a few days ago. Of course it’s going to be all about beauty topics. I have only my intro video posted but will be posting another video soon. The theme is affordable products and whats good whats not good and maybe down the line nail and make up tutorials. I thought I would run it by you guys since I know all of you are already interested in anything beauty related. Check it out and subscribe! Thanks all my beauties!
I’m happy to say I did try out one of my new palettes I got the other day, you know the one that had 24 colors for only $2.99! I wanted to go for the antique bronzy gold theme but toned down. My one complaint right off the bat is the colors I used for this look was fallout madness! There was a lot of fallout and it was rather annoying but I was patient and able to achieve the look I wanted. The lighter colors I hoped would be more opaque. But the darker browns made up for that I think. I used only colors from the palette and maybelline gel eyeliner. For mascara I used maybelline colossal cat eyes (love this mascara!) let’s get straight to the pics why don’t we?!
Colors I used
Just after applying before a long day at work.
And after work how it held up.
And also I wore my hair half up half down in this really cool handmade leather feather that I got from the renaissance festival a couple years ago.
I am going to try out other color combos with these palettes and post them up here to show how far a $2.99 palette can go! Enjoy your Sunday night everyone!
I had to replace my foundation and pressed powder today and while at the drugstore I picked up a few other things as well. I picked out a concealer, eye shadow primer and two eye shadow palettes. I’ve never used concealer or a decent eye primer so in excited to use those in the morning and I’m even more excited to us my new palettes. They were $2.99 each with I think 24 colors each and I swatched them all (sorry no pictures yet) and they are all completely opaque and they are all a metallic/shimmer finish, which I love! I’ll post a review of each product after some usage time 🙂
Hi fellow beauty blogsters!
I got a palette from Forever 21 a long time ago and never got around to swatching it. It has 100 colors and it was around $15. I thought that was an awesome deal so I said why not it has to have some okay colors. Low and behold they aren’t as opaque as one would like. I swatched every single color on my arm row by row for you guys to see. One plus is the browns and coppers are pretty opaque and those are the ones I use a lot so that made me happy. Generally the brightly colored shadows were the dull ones but some came out pretty good so I wouldn’t say it was a total bust. If you have some patience you can darken the colors up. Just so you know what you’re looking at, my arm will be to the left of the row that is being swatched and the colors go in order of the row vertically.
Hey guys. So I said I would be back with pictures and my opinion on my new L.A. Colors blush and baked eye shadow. I’ve tried them all out and I’m pretty happy with them except the dual blush.
Ill start with the dual which is called papaya/nutmeg. It wasn’t working for me. It’s very dusty and the product doesn’t stay on the brush. When I go to tap off the excess it all comes off and is way too shimmery for me. Due to it being so dusty it kind of goes everywhere and there’s a lot of fallout. Maybe it could be used wet. I didn’t think to try that. I don’t have a picture bc I didn’t even finish applying it before I gave up on it.
Next is blushing pink. It’s a single small blush pot. This color is a bright baby doll pink. I absolutely love it! The color is very pigmented so you only need a little bit and it lasts forever. I wear it to work almost every day and its still there when I get home ten hours later. I give this one a big thumbs up. Here’s a picture of the product and me wearing it.
Next is called natural. It’s the final blush pot I bought. It’s a natural flushed color. I like this if you want flushed cheeks but in a toned down way. You make make it as bold as you want by building up. This one is also very pigmented and a little goes a long way. Stays on all day just like blushing pink. I give this one a thumbs up as well.
This second picture is after I got done with a six mile bike ride and its still there!
Last is the quad of baked eye shadow. I was expecting better but it’s still okay. My brushed didn’t pick up the shadow very well. The best way I found to apply it was with my finger and then I blended with my brushes. I wanted them to be more pigmented but they aren’t a total waste. As long as you have some patience you can keep building the color up.
Well that’s it for my little review. I loved the two blush pots. A no go on the dual blush and the baked eye shadow was just okay. Not a total bust. I would say they are worth the $2. Hope you guys enjoyed! Maybe I will try out some more and do another review. Sorry it took me so long to post this one!
